North Texas RCIC Launches The Ramps™

The North Texas Regional Center for Innovation and Commercialization (NTXRCIC) announces collaboration with Texas State University to provide The Ramps™ training program.

Women entrepreneurs will receive coaching from experienced investors, entrepreneurs, inventors and business leaders and have the opportunity to learn about area resources to grow ventures. The Ramp™ training includes both skills training and knowledge training to provide guidance in starting, growing and funding and every aspect of launching a scalable company. Nationally-recognized guest speakers and panelists will cover every entrepreneurial walk of life. Participants can grow or launch a business during the program. The cost is approximately $3,000 for the 25 week program. Payment plans and scholarships available.

Texas State University RampCorp brings The Ramps™ to cities across Texas and the NTXRCIC will be the third site to launch this year.

“The NTXRCIC is a natural host as we see business opportunities daily,” said Maria Smith, Director for the NTXRCIC. “Working with women entrepreneurs to advance their idea from concept to a scalable business is a big part of the curriculum; but the best part is the self-growth”

“North Texas is a great place to launch and grow a company and we’re looking for women who are ready to take the leap and would like support.” – Terry Chase Hazell, Texas State RampCorp Director.

Since the inception of the NTXRCIC six years ago, building a solid network for entrepreneurs to leverage has been a key focus. Ensuring entrepreneurs have resource partners in academia, capital, and vendor relationships can be the difference between building a successful business or having to go back to the drawing board. The Ramps™ program targets women that have significant business and technology experience, an interest in growing an idea into a business and want to learn the proven methods of how to “Ramp-up” a company. The program will recruit 30 women from across the North Texas region.
